This week we kick off our Cook Around the World project in Japan, and what better way to start than with sushi.
Because we’re cooking for nine people today, this quickly turned into a small production line. Rice cooking, fish slicing, fillings everywhere, and a steady rhythm of rolling and cutting.
This was also the first time using my 3D-printed sushi maker, which turned out to be perfect for volume. Consistent shapes, faster workflow, and a lot less stress when making plate after plate.
Our sushi included:
- Tuna
- Mango
- Salmon
- Chicken
- Cucumber
- Crab
- Avocado
Finished off with lots and lots of wasabi, of course 😉
A great first week: familiar flavors and, some new tools. A solid start to a year of cooking around the world.
